Becoming a BBT Member
We invite you, the community, to become a member of Benicia Ballet Theatre.
BBT members have the privilege of voting yearly for its Board of Directors and attending Board meetings monthly. Membership fees and a desire to further the interests of the organization and its mission are all that is needed.
Benicia Ballet Theatre’s Board of Directors are elected by the general membership, are non-paid and serve a one year term following the calendar year (January to December). Nominations are taken for the Board of Directors at the yearly General Membership meeting held in September, the weekend following Labor Day. The membership vote is taken via email a week or two later. After the vote, the incoming Board has an opportunity to shadow their predecessor from September to December, and begin their full term in January.
A Membership year runs August to July, to enable the membership vote in September’s meeting. Membership is accepted at any time, though we encourage you to become a member in August to gain the most from your membership.
